Replacing a large number of derelict farm buildings on a six acre site, the one remaining barn of merit became the foundation of this substantial conversion and extension.

Against a backdrop of planning problems The Genesis Design Studio won the support of the New Forest District Council with this sensitive approach to residential development in the countryside.

Wrapped around an open courtyard the timber-clad barn and new extension sensitively fuse under the slate roof to form a substantial country residence befitting the scale and proportion of a typical farmstead.
