This 150 place First School is built in a prime countryside location on the edge of the village.

In context with this rural position the school is designed as an array of three pavilions linked by glazed corridors. The arrangement lessens the visual intrusion of distant views of the greenbelt farmland that surround the site.

The school has been designed to be extendable to 2FE by the provision of a fourth block which completes the ‘crescent’ of buildings.

The rural context of the location is respected by the timber rainscreen weather board cladding which will mellow with age and mature into the landscape.
