St. Faith's Primary School

The Genesis Design Studio was asked to produce a phased rationalisation and development plan to suit avenues of funding that would ultimately replace all temporary accommodation and improve facilities at the school.

Constructed in several phases, the overall scheme included 2 new classrooms, Hall, Admin. Suite and staff facilities. The existing old school was also extensively refurbished.

Situated within a road of terraced Edwardian houses, forming part of the Winchester Conservation Area, the new building has been sympathectically designed with matching materials to sit comfortably into the street scene.

The old front facade of the school has effectively been drawn forward to accommodate the new facilities enhancing the composure of the original school building. Internally, exposed timber structural members are a feature of the open volume of the roof.
