Erskine Road Housing
Winchester, Hampshire

This project for Winchester District Housing Association comprises a block of 3 bedroom houses and a block of 1 bedroom houses of distinctive design. The 3 bedroom houses are a modern interpretation of the existing street scene, maintaining the rhythm of the frontage, but utilising more modern materials and detailing.

The materials and method of construction were originally intended to utilise prefabricated techniques and components as a test bed to a larger project.

Sustainable materials were also chosen for their low environmental impact hence the use of cedar cladding and timber windows. The houses are naturally ventilated with a passive stack ventilation system used in bathrooms and kitchens.
